My sleeping/storage/audio system

There are a million of these but I took the best ideas I saw and came up with this: https://youtu.be/S1xWFMylHok

Sleeping/storage was the first priority but I figured I'd sneak a 10" subwoofer and amp in there because I really like music and I didn't want to build it twice.

I posted it on 3g4rmafia but never posted it here. I've had it built about six months and it's been really great on trips.

Very well thought out platform, great utilization of space! This is pretty inspiring, makes me want to build one myself.

Do you mean the drawer slides? Whatever I could find cheapest on amazon with the highest weight rating. They were still pricey though, I believe they were 200-250# slides.

One piece of advice I can give though: the piano hinges sold at Home Depot are garbage. Use the ones sold at Lowe's- the tolerances are much tighter and it is overall a far superior product.
 
Holy cow! This is amazing. Any plans for a write up, or to sell detailed plans/materials list? Like with amp setup, and one without? (Don’t need an amp) Thanks and this is just fantastic.

I don't have any plans, sadly, as I did everything on-the-fly (though basic dimensions are listed in the YouTube comments). I did keep the paper patterns for the curved profile pieces that fold over, so if you're local and/or part of the Arizona 4runners group, you're more than welcome to borrow the pattern.

I wouldn't mind building some for sale, I just think I'd have to charge way too much for that it would price me out of the market :/ Maybe I should market it forward those 5th gen guys with seemingly all the money

If you had a few folks sign up, prepay, and you knocked them all out at the same time, it might not be that bad actually.
 
Very nice man, you can clearly see the attention to detail.

I also found your information on the rear hatch switch/manual window and magnet window covers. Keep them coming! I plan on using at least a few of them.
 
Wow! Super awesome setup.

How you get the front seats to lean forward like that? Unless I’m seeing an optical illusion.

Just so you know, your sarcasm is second to none. Doesn't matter what thead it is, you alway seem to put a jab in. Keeps it fun and I'm glad I haven't seen anyone get butt-hurt over it.

Good Lord, what a platform you've got there. Almost makes we want to totally rebuild mine. You've done a great job on it!
 
To be honest for about 5 seconds Mike did make me wonder if there really was a famous seat lean mod that I had never heard of.
