Where can I find a new engine for a 06 4 runner V8??

4.7L (VIN T, 5th digit, 2UZFE engine, 8 cylinder

Will a Tundra 4.7 or a Lexus 4.7 (GX470) fit??

Only found 1 on ebay with 131k miles.
Called all local junk yards with no luck.

while you're not the first guy hoping in vain for a V8 2UZ-FE motor here, you'll have better luck finding one on the 4th Gen sub-forum.

I notice that car-part.com interchange includes listings for engines for that vehicle as shown in the link below...should be OK for the basic engine, maybe not the accessories such as power steering pump and alternator which you'll bring over from your existing engine anyway.

Having been a kid before, I don’t think I would ever let my younger-self borrow one of my cars… I could go into detail but I wasn’t very considerate about cost of my mistakes to good ole dad.

That said, I did know about and take interest in cars, modifications, and knew how to change my blinker fluid and rotate my brake pads on a regular basis.

Ehh looking out for my past I think I was pretty good. I was definitely generous on the skinny pedal but I always made sure fluids looked good and didn't have any accidents. I hope I can raise a kid as responsible. Might not be the case. I know a guy, very well off with an impressive supercar collection. Needless to say his son still doesn't respect these machines and drives like a wanker.

But then again I've always said that for every rule there's an exception.

I guess the Ops biggest gripe is that for such a smart kid, he obviously didn’t pick up on the obvious signs that he would have stopped driving the truck at the first sign of something being wrong and called for help.

My dad would probably have a similar story, worse than yours OP. My younger brother came home one night real late, and noticed some water dripping in from the ceiling due to the rain. Instead of notifying dad, he left a note on the fridge. Dad woke up to that note, and a flooded house. We had some electrical work done before the rains and the contractor nicked the flashing causing a roof leak, that basically soaked in the entire attic. With early notification, we could have minimized damages.

My little brother is a pretty smart kid, the only doctor in the family, but sometimes the obvious eludes even the smartest of people.

When my kids are of driving age, I'm getting them a cheap Camry or Accord so they don't tear up my vehicles. Once they destroy that they are on their own.

A few years ago I saw a string of seized motors because of oil delivery problems (i.e failed pump, not tightening the drain plug, etc.) and each time I asked the owner if the oil light came on. Each one of them said yeah, but they figured it would blink or make noise if it was serious. This prompted me to start asking friends and loved ones what they would do if the oil light came on in their car.

I was more than a little surprised at the number of people that said they would keep driving until it seemed like a problem. I died a little... but I still love them.

Also... might be time to source a 1HD... :naughty: just sayin'. pretty sure they mated them to the A750F in the J120's and J100's at different points of the life cycle. I don't know if it'll fit but I know that's what I would be doing... Then again I'm not known for making good decisions.
