My System (w/ pics!) :)

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so dont yell at me if I dont get the pics to work hehe

Anyways I just took pics of my sub and amp, sorry for the limited number but it is raining outside so pics are diffacult! Anyways my setup is (basically):

JL 12" W7
JT 1000/1 Amp
Stinger 0 gauge wiring
Stinger Power Distribution Box
Optio Yellow Top Battery
Home Made Box (YEAH BABY!)

By the way, I installed ALL OF THIS MYSELF, I simply bought all the parts off the net (95% ebay, except for the battery which i bought at a local shop), and I built the box myself. Essentially I had nothing but the raw materials, and went at it myself, not jsut because it saved me some money but for the experience, because if ANY of you have done this before, you know the joy of saying, "I did this all myself" and the feeling you get....haha. Anyways the 4runner is a 1999 Limited and it is Sanddune exterior with tan leather interior.

The sub is NOT bolted down or secured in any ways so i gotta drive slow, so no offroading or else it will bounce around and thats some pricey stuff to be risking . Anyways I am planing on keeping my sub in its current location (left side) and "mounting" my amp on a shelf type board that extends horizontally from the right side of the sub box onto the top of the tire well in the trunk, and then i can secure tat down pretty easily, and I can secure the PDB somewhere in there as well. I took out one of the hooks in the trunk and put a bolt into the car so I can use it as a ground cable and it works great. Anyways feedback? comments? Sorry if they dont work once again, I'm New!!

Looks nice! If you want to cover it, try vinyl. I did my homemade box in that stuff and it came out surprisingly well.

nice system...i'm sure that w7 pounds......i have a friend with 4 of the top of the line kicker solo barricks in the back of his 545i. and that shit makes your ears bleed! as for setting off car alarms.....my cousin's m3 does the trick with it's exhaust. sometimes i wish i had a PA system too. welcome to the forum!

Looks nice... need to cover it with something. I'm thinking about building a slot port box also...just haven't quiet figured out the length of the port needed. Did you use that WinSid program?

yeah I'm thinking of covering it but I want to get a plan to secure it and a nice place for the amp first before i do anything else, cuz now i gotta drive so cautiously..like i cant even accelerate quickly or else it might slide back and bump into something. I'm probably gonna go with black vinyl and to get the dimensions right just use logic and space and planing. not that hard once you think about it...just get the dimensions for your sub. Mine basically has 18" for the sub, then a wall withj about a 3inch gap inside and then a pathway, then the same thign with a 3inch gap, then it comes out the port that you see. its hard to describe in words but when i get home I'll draw a picture of it on paint but I'm at school now so i cant haha. My brother went a little screw-crazy and haha it lokos kinda weird but it wont be a problem when I cover it. Only bad thing now is that I re-installed new xenon lights (green tint to them, looks SWEET) cuz before i had smoe but one burned out, so more power was able to be sent to the sub, but now when it slams the headlights dim and the amp cant take the surge sometimes so it beeps at me and gets pissed off lol.

I don't know about the amp, but my sub never moved around in the back of my truck (and the way I drive...) - just the friction between the carpet and the carpet was enough to hold everything in place.
