My Used '04 4Runner didnt come with a Jack - Where to get one?

Found out the jack is missing from my '04 V8 Limited 4Runner. The dealer wanted about $160 for a new one. I searched Ebay, this site and google but nothing really turned up.

I imagine there are plenty of jacks out there from wrecked 4Runners. Any ideas on how to get my hands on one??

Just any Auto parts store even WalMart and K-Mart have cheap jacks that are better then any Toyota OEM jack. I bought one for $15 for my old ford Bronco, because I did not trust the cheap jack that came with it.

Someone had nabbed mine so I bought a good scissor jack from Wally. I did however make a longer jack handle as the one that came with it is only 2' and too short to reach under the jack points. I also purchase a 3' long 3/8" socket extension to use to lower the spare. I am sure you are missing that too.

As far as I know, jack is a separate unit in the storage compatrment. If somebody says that JACK IS MISSING, I understand that JACK IS MISSING. And it has nothing to do with extentions.
But your are wright. It is impossible to use this jack without extentions...

My 4runner didn't come with one either... I bought it used in 2004 and I found out that I didn't have a jack this year LoL! ... I bought one of those 6 ton bottle jack from autozone and it fits in the back compartment with all the other parts.

Heading to San Jose, and got a flat. So decided to give the 12 ton bottle jack I bought from Harbor Freight a try.

It wasn't good enough.

Maybe it was the crown of the road, maybe it was being partially pulled over, but basically there was not enough "range" in the jack to raise the flat tire high enough to give enough clearance to the spare.

So I had to pull out the regular jack to hold the car, lower the 12T jack, twist the cap to extend it and then continue jacking up the car.

Today, measured the extension of the regular jack and it will give you almost a good 12"

So if you get a regular bottle jack, be sure it has enough range, as the max height isn't the entire story.
