My wheel bearings bad?

so i've had this problem for a while..since late winter early spring after I put my lift on. I did an alignment right after i did the lift. I've posted this problem before but I guess it hasn't been tackled yet.

Whenever driving if I let go of the gas, i can hear a humming sound coming from the floorboard. if i give it a little gas the noise will go away. let go and it will come back. its not too loud but if you drive it you can slightly feel it in the gas pedal. I could be going 20 mph or 80 mph...as soon as i let off the gas i can hear it. With the windows down i can't really hear anything outside the car..it seems like its right under my feet towards the front.

You guys got a clue?
i can take pics of my front undercarrage tomorrow if u need pics.
its 2wd so no CVs

my rear bearings just went out. and it wasnt a humming noise, and if its been happening that long then its probably not your wheel bearings... has it gotten worse or has it stayed about the same?

actually i do not hear anything when i turn..only straight line..so that acutally cancels out wheel bearings

o great..i hope this isnt it. its gotten slightly worst. great now i'm thinking its the tranny. tell me more..so i can pinpoint it

hmm..possibly but us 2wd dont have any zerks to lube up on the shaft

try to check your transmission fluid- -take the dipstick and check the color- should be RED and the smell should NOT be like burnt...

if not RED and/or has a burnt smell, time for a trans fluid change and flush...safer to do this first before touching anything in your transmission...

see if you have any play in your u-joints and fill with grease if you haven't lately. Lift puts your driveshaft at a greater angle and if you have a problem at all it will be more pronounced there after.

Check the U-joints, but if you think its the wheel bearings, feel how hot the wheel gets after a 10 mile highway ride, as when the bearings go, they get very hot, noticably hot.

Sounds to me like it's the rear diff. Been through this on a couple of my vehicles. The lift just makes it that much worse. Just like you change the u joint angle, the pinion bearing will be more stressed with the lift too. Even though the u joint takes the brunt of it, the pinion bearing still takes a bit. How many miles are on your truck?

U joints will generally be worse under acceleration. Pinion Bearing is usually louder during deceleration. I'd be willing to bet you it's your pinion bearing.

U joints are their worst under load (accelerating.) And will almost always be accompanied by vibration.

A pinion bearing is a humming, almost whirling kind of noise if that makes sense. If you have a reputable transmission shop in the area, take it to them. What they should do is put it on a lift, put it in drive and listen to the differential with a scope. They should be able to pinpoint it for you that way.
