I know this is the suspension section. I will get to that in a minute. First I have to say I married to the coolest woman. She surprised me with a lift kit today for my birthday (I won't actually have it until tomorrow). She knew I had been looking and researching for quite some time. I didn't realize she had even been paying attention to what i was doing. In the past few weeks I decided what i wanted, but she ended up getting me a Daystar 2.5" full lift. She was only off by a half inch. I was going to put together a 2.5"front / 2" rear lift. After being on this site for over a year (having not made a post) and searching and reading and searching and reading I didn't know this lift was available. I couldn't be more execited. Secondly, my 4runner is a 2006, v6, 4x4 sport in salsa red with about 56,000 miles on it. And to add to her coolness I got the 4runner in 2010 on valentine's day. So, lets talk about this lift. I wasn't sure if it actually existing so i did some searching and found it. She went with the 2.5/2.5 because I like the rake and can't stand all the different trucks / suv's i see that are too high in the front. Anyways, I thought this would be a hell of a good first post and start to my lift project. One more thing. I told her since I got a lift I will have to drop a 800-1000$ on a set of tires. Her response... "I figured that."

Some members did baby steps by going w/ a Spacer Lift & many members Did It Right The First Time.

I currently still have my Daystar Spacer Lift...after 2 month, I was ready to upgrade. I haven't upgraded yet, because the wallet won't let me!!

Anywho...I was reading about Daystar Spacer Lift for over a year if not two. I landed a Used Daystar Spacer Lift Kit & was hyped up to install them. If you don't know how to do suspension, you'll easily spend $300 on labor alone. Good thing I have a friend w/ a shop, I was able to help w/ my supervision as a peace of mind. My goodness...all that work just for a slight increase. If I did it all over again...I would go straight to Coilovers.

I have the Daystar Spacer Lift & I was drooling over it for a year till I finally caved in.

It definately looks nice, but it's the same travel as stock, because you're just adding a spacer to extend the stock strut/shock assembly.

I actually help do the install & it's so much work for so little improvement.

I don't regret doing it, because if I didn't do it, I wouldn't have known this information.

If I did it all over again, I'd go with...

• OME

or

• Overland Warehouse Radflo 2.5

I didn't replace my UCA, because I stuck only stepped up to 32" tires, if you were to step up to 33" or higher, then you need them for clearance.

As for alignment...only the Toe Angle for the front are adjustable, and my Caster Angle wasn't out of whacked too much, my vehicle is traveling perfectly straight.

If you need photos or have questions about the Daystar Spacer Lift...please let me know. Actually if you need a Tutorial in installing a lift, let me know.

Thanks for all the post K.C. You have a good looking rig. Are you working on your post count? (just kidding) I have been reading on this site for over a year now, and think i have read through all the links you post atleast twice (I will read them all again tonight). I am on a budget, so this will work for now. When the xreas wears out or I get the cash I will probably go to a OW 2.5 I am just excited to get some air under the runner. Next on the list: kelly safari tsr.
