Mysterious part fell off..

First off it is an 2003, was driving though downtown and heard a big bang. Pulled over and found the part at the side of the road. About a month before the same thing happen but all we found was rusty medal piece, not % 100 sure if it was from the truck since it was a busy road. Truck has been and still is running fine. Is it anything important, should it be checked out?

its a plastic brace behind the from bumper where the fog lights are. Pop open your hood, look straight down where the fog lights are behind the bumper, there should be a little piece of rubber flab thing, remove it, and it's supposed to be right at the very corners of the car.
