Swapping vents with a head unit.

I’m in castle rock so not too far from littleton. This is a mod I have been following since you started the post. Just curious if you managed to succeed with it? And if so mind posting the final results?

Naw kinda stalled out waiting for my roommate to get his 3d printer up and running which he is kind of taking his time with it. Thinking about asking around my 4x4 club to see if anyone can get the ball rolling on this quicker. I've had the atoto head unit installed in the factory slot for a bit now and one thing I'm realizing is that I'll probably have to make the system a little beefier than I originally anticipated if it will hold up to washboards. I'm thinking I could run a steel plate off the cupholder to support it and lock it in place. I think this is about the only way to get this to work. Thought about maybe having the mount actually tied into the dash like the factory din slot but that was dashed when I took things apart the other day to blue locktite the factory slot (screws rattled loose a bit on a fishing trip I was on that involved lots of driving on washboards). it would require A LOT of fab and possibly some welding which is beyond my capability. I'll just overbuild it as much as I can and maybe even find ways to reinforce the radio bezel and stiffen it.

Well if you ever do find a good way to do this mod. let me know! i will drive down to littleton and give you some cash to do mine haha. in the meantime ill be trying to figure out a way to as well. If your 4x4 club gets the ball rolling on it always be sure to post updates back to here.

couldn't you try poking around some 3d printing forums to see if anyone can help you get this piece printed and shipped to you. maybe even the guy that makes the cup holders. Also is the design uploaded anywhere I would like to try it out.

There is a guy in my club actually who is going to print it up for me. Rather busy with a bunch of stuff right now though so it might be a bit till I get this all wrapped up. I want to make a few modifications to the file but I'd be happy to post my beta version up here for you in a bit.
