Mystery battery light

Is have researched this to death!!!! Went out one morning, went to go out of town, and my 2006 Sport battery light is on, along with the abs lights, Trac control, etc on the right side of the speedo dial. Drove it around a couple blocks to see if any went off. Truck had been fine last time I drove it probably a week before. After checking, I found the battery voltage was 11.8v, replaced battery with new one. Light still on. Pulled alternator, had tested, found bad. Bought reman "Remy" alt, installed, and shows 14.0-14.2 while running, battery @ 12.8 sitting. Battery light STILL on. I've checked fuses under hood and dash, all good. Sorry for long post, but wanted to give all the details...by the way, the abs, And other lights were from the right side speed sensor wires being pulled apart! I don't 4 wheel this 4 runner( im old) so that happening is another mystery. Any direction I can go in or check would be a great help....does a batt light need to be "reset, I disconnected the batt, touched cables together, waited 15 min, and reconnected... light still on!!!! rsbhunter

I sort of answered this to you in another post but in that post I don't remember you stating you had replaced the alternator. All the same except for on detail. With the key on, engine off, if you disconnect the alternator connector, the light should go off, then back on when you connect it. If it doesn't go off, then the circuit is shorted to ground, if it does, AND it comes back on when connected...then your reman Remy is No Goody. Hope that clears it up!
