I have a 95 4-runner my problem i bought this vehicle with the thought that it only had blown headgaskets which i replaced and got it running. I put a new timing belt on and when i start it up it runs but it runs really really rich. The distributor is maxxed out and i can only get the timing down to around 10 btdc. Now before you say its the belt is off or the distibutor is not set in right. I have checked all of this numerous times probably 4-8 times yes i have pulled the belt that many times sad but true. Here is where it gets odd when i try and jump te1 and e1 it does nothing it still idles the same but the check engine light blinks along with the od off light. Now i have put a new tps on and set it per the factory manuel and still i can't get it jumped. Also i have a antilock brake light on and when i try to pull codes for that light off the diagnostic port it throws the cruise control light i have checked for shorts in the system with no results. Am i looking at a partially fryed ECU that stills runs the vehicle. Any help is appreciated.
