Well I'm starting to think two things. One, either the Area Clubs forum doesn't get much traffic or two, other than MagnumFan, Simple and I are the ONLY Nor. Cal. T4R members who really enjoy and use our 4Runners for their true talent. And for those of who lament over the cost of gas, and trust me I understand, I started with a full tank and added a bottle of Lucas Oil's octane boost. At the end of the day, I replaced the gas I used at a cost of $4.25 gallon, which came out to about $45. So since I usually always put Lucas's products in my tank at fill ups, I'm not factoring in that expense. I spent a total of $55 for this trip in gas for me and the 4Runner. So please save up if you need to and come join us next time. MagnunFan had to go back home, so I ended up doing the rest of these trails by myself. I took 68 pictures all in all. It's hard, but I'm going to only post a few here so as not to use up the sites bandwidth. If you want to see all of them, PM me with your email adrs and I will send you a link to view the whole album.
So for those not in the know. Area is in the Sierra's btwn 5 & 6 thousand feet. Signal Peak can be seen from Hwy 80 because you can't miss those towers. It has two ways to get up there, the easy (Class 2 & 3) and hard (Class 4 & 5 to maybe 6).
The hard route starts from Grouse Run OHV staging area, or you can take a different trail that runs to Eagle Lakes or the Pierce OHV Loop. These are the trails that the famous yearly August held Sierra Trek is held from. These are trails that are compared to the Rubicon in some regards, if that helps paint a mental picture. I meant to take the Eagle Lakes trail, but got my arrows mixed up and ended up doing the harder Pierce one. It was class 4 for sure and maybe even 5 in some spots. It would of been easier with a spotter, but other than one moment when I was distracted by some hikers bounding out of the trees, nothing went wrong. Lost some paint off my running boards, but that's what they are there for. Hope to get those rock sliders soon! Anyway, hard to pick just a few pics. It was an amazing time, and as the final caveat. My brother says to me "It's truly amazing and lucky that that's the only damage you did. I'm impressed." I said back to him, "Naw. That's evidence that my stock vehicle is a completely capable off road SUV."

Finished up about 4pm, 100 clicks on the ole' OD. Got hailed on! Then went and had dinner in Reno.
