N. CA SUV 4WD run 5/17/08 Information

**Now edited 4/27 to show the flyer--Please note--I've done this as this is a pre-register event. WE MUST HAVE A HEAD COUNT!**

Hello all, thanks for your time.
There is a local Sacramento Cal 4WD group that is hosting another fantastic SUV trip. Here's just a brief bit off the flyer:
"Saturday, May 17, 2008, TYLER-FOOTE CROSSING TO ALLEGHANY. Follow an unusual,
single lane shelf road as it descends and crosses the Middle Yuba River. The former stagecoach route is
constructed with near-vertical stone wall hand built by Italian stone masons over 90 years ago. Lunch in
Alleghany, an 1850 gold mining town that still has active mining today. We will return via Plumbago
Mine and Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park. See the effects of hydraulic mining and the restored
mining town of North Bloomfield. Suitable for all 4x4 vehicles with front and/or rear attachment points."

I also intend on attaching a link of the photos of the last time they did this run. What beautiful scenery! They will again have a historian along for the ride to point out the historical places, as I understand there is a lot to this trip than just the country side! I can not wait for this trip...I've already put in my vacation request time for work and my CB should be delivered today!!

My question is related to wether or not for people who are interested in all the details, do you want me to post it here or on the Off Road section? As stated all models are accepted but they'd love it if more Toyotas came along. There will be no snow, but we all know why Jeepers secretly like it when there are Toyotas around!

Post in GD, So May 17th is the run? With this cold front we been having and the rain will make for a wet and muddy run..
Please post pic's from last year!!

:awais:

Ok so it's looking like here in GD. But that is for only 4 people. I'd like to give this poll to Sat. night, since I'm not sure that everyone visits this site on a daily basis. I'm only here once every 3 days or so. I'll post the complete details, Cal4WD club hosting it etc then on Sunday. Or you guys can google "robs run 4wd" and the first hit will take you right to the website.;):
No, I didn't end up going to Hollister since I was told it was cancelled. Which is fine since I am going on the pre-run for this event, and then the actual event a week later. I got my new CB on Monday, and still need to go buy the antenna and external speaker. I really want to go to Hollister, but that is a significant commitment for me since it's a 2 hour drive just to get to the meeting place!
Anyway, if there really isn't much interest on this site for four wheeling adventures, and more than likely blame it on the gas prices, I totally understand. I'll probably only be doing these say every couple of months, but that's also because I need to get rid of my fancy rims and tires, running boards, etc. and make my truck a better off roading machine!;): :biggrin2:

Attached is the flyer for the "Rob's Run" put on by Capital City Mountain Goat 4WD Club. Since lunch is provided, there is a cost involved to pay for it. But no worries, there is a gift bag that comes along with it. This is your final week notification as we need to have a head count for the owner of the place where lunch is provided. Please let me know if you have any questions. Their monthly meeting is this upcoming Fri. at the Cal4WD building in Sacramento.

Oh sorry, I promised to post photos of past runs. When you go to their website, under Photos, the name of the album is hidden until you hoover over it. Look for "Alleghany" as the name of the photos. There is one from 2004, and two in 2005. There will be a pre-run again for this years. As you can see, it's a very popular run and VERY historical. http://www.ccmg4wd.org/Photos2005/AllPrerun01/

This is one of my favorites.
