Name this stock rim please?

OK, my first substantive post here, I picked up my first 4runner, a ‘97 Limited with e-locker. I have warped rotors, or at least hella shimmy on braking, and want to tow in the future. I have spent too much time searching about which stock rims will clear the 231mm Tundra calipers, including the upgrade thread which unfortunately has a couple photos missing of a couple stock wheels.

Anyway, what is this 16” wheel nicknamed/called? And will it clear the v8 Tundra 321mm calipers? Hate to ask but I have really tried looking at various websites including search engines.

Split 3 spoke, and no, it will not clear without a 1/4” spacer minimum.

On a related subject...be sure to make sure that your rear brakes are adjusted. Lots of YouTube video out there on how to adjust drums.

Your hard work on the front brake upgrade will go to waste with nonperforming rears.

I got a Runner a few months ago. Bad front shimmy. Adjusted the rears...they were providing zero braking.

Shimmy went away.

I have those same wheels so I did the 199mm caliper and its still a major improvement compared to our stock brakes.

Damn fine bit of info there, I NEVER would have considered that...will look into it, still want the 231mm campers/rotors, will look for extended studs and 1/4" spacers...

look for different OEM wheel options as well - there's always plenty for dirt cheap on CL

If you are handy with a grinder, you can take some material off the back of the rims. You'll see a "point" in the casting on the backside. I did this before I got the TRD tacoma wheels that clear completely. You're taking off a fairly insignificant amount of aluminum on each of the 6 spokes so it doesn't affect balance or ride.

Just a heads up though, universal spacers can affect ride quality and develop a shimmy. Makes the wheels lug-centric instead of hub-centric. I didn't want this so I busted out the grinder.
