NASCAR edition 04 4Runner

We e have been going to the summer race at the speedway for years. The norm in the infield is to add a platform for viewing. Yes I am part of animalville - but the infield is much tamer than the lawlessness of the past. You can see the whole track except the pits (that's what the TV is for).

another view!

A few things to note.
8 feet is the limit to drive in and I am at about right at it. 7'10 fully loaded. I can always let out the air bags if they freak or the tires if needed.
I use a floor jack to keep it steady (no sag or side to side movement).
The tent covers the back so I can keep the back open during the afternoon showers.

Last one so you can check out the bar out back. Fits into the reciever hitch. I have 3 different size tops I can put on. This is the picnic table top - the largest. You can see the wife enjoying the shade of the 10x20 cover that we run between trucks.

Awesome .....

Sadly, in the 16 years I lived in Daytona, I never was in the infield during a race.

Looks good, but the first thought I had when I saw the picture with your wife up there is how many people fall off those things everyday? I imagine you drink some beer and probably get a little rowdy during the race. Anybody put railings up on theirs?

If you look in the backround of one of the pix you can see the guy next to us has a ledge with a bar - he said he plans on having it on both sides next summer.

I have seen someone fall off but they were trying reaching to catch a football! I did use an office chair on wheels one year so I coud spin to follow the cars. I had to add a strip of molding around the edge so I did not roll right off.

Cool setup. I was scared to open this thread. I was expecting a poor 4Runner plastered with an insane number of NASCAR related stickers, flags, and magnets. :D
