I have been volunteering with the SBNFA OHV Volunteer program for jsut over a year and have 300 hours with the program. I feel it is a good way to enjoy our Forest and give back to our hobby/sport. They have since changed the name to simply NFA in hopes to start the programs Nationwide. Check out the video and if you are interested for more information you can contact me. Must attend some required training and get certified through the Forest for the vehicle type you wish to "patrol" or volunteer. Vehicle options are 4x4, motorcycle, quad/atv, and new this year sidexside(UTV like Ranger or Rhino).

I figured I would list the mandatory classes. They are taught one day a month usually a Saturday and they conduct them in consecutive months most times. Meaning the three class room ones can be offered 4 times a years(quarterly)

1. Orientation
2. Rules and Regulations with map and compass
3. Scenario(putting you through practical excercises based on real encounters)

Vehicle training can be done at various times during the year. Considered a host candidate until the three classes and certified on a vehicle. To become a Host and get your OHV # you must complete required courses and 100hrs volunteer time.

Monthly meetings held at Sizzler in Corona 2nd Wed. of the month 7-9 dinner at 6. Magnolia and the 15 Fwy.
