NAV coverage and updates??

Good So Far
The coverage here in the SE is very good. As for the update program, Toyota will come out with updated DVD's for the system when an update is necessary. However, what I was told was that they won't need to update all areas so you will only need to update if your area is updated. The time range I was given was around 3-4 years for my area. Hope that helps.

Maaan, I really want the Toyota NAV. My 2003 LTD 4Runner did not have one included. I didn't think it was that big a deal at first since I thought I could just order one after. But when I asked a sales person at the dealership, he said it would cost $10,000 to buy and install the system since they have to rewire the 4Runner so suit the navigation unit. Please tell me this isn't so!! It sounds like this guy is full of sh*t. Has anyone tried ordering one or installing? I know there was one going off in ebay, I am not sure if the guy who bought it was successful in installing it.

I have a 03 limited 4runner with nav.. anyone know how to disable the safety feature that will not allow entry of addresses into the nav while driving?
