Nav Disc Compatability

I have been searching all morning but havent found the answer, can anyone here tell me if the Nav disc from a 2008 Avalon will work in my 2004 4Runner?

The navigation systems come in "Generations". Each generation has specific hardware capabilities such as screen resolution, so an upgrade isn't as easy as swapping a disc. You must use map update discs that are made for your generation; you can't put an update for a newer generation in an older system.

The 2008 Avalon is probably Generation 5, as that was current on most models from 2007-2009. The 2004 4Runner is Generation 3. So no, the disc won't work.

The 4Runner Generations are like this:
Generation 2/3 (those two are software compatible) - 2002-2004 4Runner
Generation 4 - 2005 4Runner
Generation 5 - 2006-2009 4Runner

I'm pretty sure that the 2010 has Generation 6.

Thanks! For some reason I have had a hard time finding that info And some of what was found seems to be contradictory. I appreciate your help clearing this up.
