NAV DVD map upgrade

My 2003 4Runner came with the JBL/NAV system. It's about time I upgraded the mapping DVD software to the latest version.

Can anyone here put me onto a good non-dealer source for the upgraded DVD and a little hint on how to install it?

I just read on the forum that someone was able to sucessfully back up their Nav DVD using a double sided DVD.

I'd like to get more information on this as well. I think I have the latest Nav DVD - however - for the next Nav DVD release... It would be nice to copy for back up purposes of course.

Now... there is also some information concerning the upgrade DVD vs New Version Nav DVD or SOMETHING like that. There was discussion of some kind of circular marks on the DVD.

From what I can remember the 05 version can not be used in an 04/03 nav unit. You may want to check before purchasing.
