Nav In 05 4runner

whats up guys this is my first post so if you see somthing wrong let me know

anyways been reading alot of these post and most of my questions have been answered which is great.
i do have one question though
i have an 05 sr5 v8 with no jbl just got it a few weeks ago
now i heard on the site that a camry nav will fit so i prepared to buy one but what else would i need i know it wont just slip in
life cant be that easy

The Eclipse 5435 is a better deal as far as I am concerned. The price is about the same and it is not crippled. I installed one in my 2004 SR5 and I am very happy with it. See my AVN5435 thread for details. It looks stock since Fujitsu Ten also makes the Toyota OEM unit.

What do you mean by crippled? My Toyota factory nav is not crippled at all....

Crippled was not a good term. I should have said that it does not play dvds or mp3 disks and it can not be easily modifed to input stuff while moving.

Okay, I'll give you the DVD MP3 stuff, but it can be very easily modified to input stuff while moving.

It's as simple as a few touches of the display screen and nothing will be locked out while moving.

Yeah, I know about the hidden diagnostics menu. The Eclipse also has that. I like looking at the sats and I have played with all of the items.

Last week I tried the loading button and locked myself out of sounds and nav for a day.

I have security turned on and reloading was like disconnecting the power! I had to wait to get home to insert the key CD.

ok now im confused i was under the inpression that the eclipse 5435 and toyota nav is the same just one says toyota and one says eclipse

im able to buy the camry nav at a fraction of the price of the eclipse, but i need to know what else i need to install it in my non jbl 4runner

and if there is a difference what are they

I wouldn't say that they're exactly the same....there are differences. If you're buying the Camry navigation from OEMvalue.com, then you don't need to buy anything else to install it. It's easy to install because it basically just plugs into the existing connectors.

The only thing that you'll have to do is find a spot for an amplifier (the stock radio has an amp that is built-in, but the navigation system does not) for the stereo and then tap into the speed sensor wire and reverse wire and you should be good to go.
