NAV Question

Does the screen automatically change to day/night mode? I looked at the manual and there is a Day Mode icon in the Display screen. The Day Mode icon is not present in mine.

Am I missing something?

The Nav Systems ,if so equipped , in 5th Gen. 4Runners are what is known as a Toyota Gen. 6 Nav System. The background day/night mode can be controlled a couple of different ways. Light switch position or Instrument dimmer switch I believe.

Here is a link to a must watch tutorial on the Gen 6 Nav system and Audio Systems. The part about the day/night background is about 15 minutes under "ADJUST THE SCREEN BRIGHTNESS" in but you can skip chapters to get to it.This is for the 2010 Prius but the EXACT same one is our 5th Gen 4Runners.
Click on the 4 way arrows on the bottom left to access the main menu for more tutorials on the JBL Nav/Audio system.Real good stuff here to learn and they are pretty good Nav systems!

Thanks guys. It was as simple as turning down the instrument panel brightness control!

There's a dial that controls the brightness of the interior dash. Turn it down a tad.
