Nav Question

Just bought our new 4Runner on Saturday. The salesman lost the extra key and owners manual, but is ordering a new set.

I want to know if there is a night screen option for the navigation? I had a Lexus in the past that had this feature. I believe it was in the display screen, but I can't find it anywhere.

Any help is appreciated.

By the way we love our new 4Runner. Even though the specs are close to the 4th generation, it feels a lot BIGGER. The third row seat will get a lot of use in our family.

Thanks

put your headlights on AUTO and the NAV should switch to NIGHT mode.

I have had my lights on "auto" and it isn't switching. I also tried turning off my lights then on manually and still nothing.

Do you know if this is something the dealer can program?

Make sure the dimmer switch on your dash is not turned all the way up. If you hear a click, that means your dash/nav screen is locked on day mode even when the lights are on. You should turn up the brightness and stop before you hear a click.

That did it. Thank you!!!

Our brightness control is turned up all the way and our screen still dims. There is an option in the nav screen, under display.

What trim do you have? If your truck does not have opitron gauges, then it is different. I don't have opitron gauges on my 2005 so I turn my switch all the way up (there is no click). On my parents GX with optiron gauges, there is a click to lock the dash into day mode.

I was having the same problem. Once I lowered the brightness setting below the "click" then night mode automatically set in. Thanks!!!!!!:lmao:
