nav tape deck noise

I have the nav with the tape deck before they got rid of it for the all in one nav system in 05. I just got a cassette adapter to plug in my iphone for music on long trips(fm transmitter sucks) and noticed a slight ticking noise when the tape is running. Is this normal?

Yes, if you don't hear a ticking sound, then there is a problem. Basically the tape deck is designed originally for cassette tapes of course. when you insert the cassette tape and press play the motor rotates the cassette tape. When you insert the cassette adapter, same thing happens but it doesn't rotate anything, so you hear a click sound.

In short, perfectly normal.

ok thanks for the info. first time i used it... music will be loud enough not to hear the noise anyways.
