Hello all,
I have an '04 4Runner and when I initially purchased my truck in December '03, I thought to myself, "Dude, it's a Toyota, it's friggin' bulletproof, my Tercel has over 125K miles and it still runs like butta'." So with that being said, I decided against purchasing the extended warranty and only have the standard 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.
Fast forward to 3 days ago when I go out to start my usual morning commute to work only to find that the navi is dead. Now I mean the screen is completely black, none of the buttons work, no radio ... I can't even open the screen to eject my cd. Just nothing. So I bring it to Toyota after working on it pretty much all day, they concluded that the unit is bad and they're replacing the whole thing. Now I'm not wiggin' that bad, 'cause everything is still under warranty and everything; but now I'm worried about what happens after my 36,000 miles are up.
Has anyone else out there experienced any issues with your stock navi or do you think this is just a fluke incident. Should I try to maybe purchase an extended warranty now?
I'm just voicing some concerns and would appreciate it if anyone other there could give me any feedback or tell me some of your experiences with your stock navi units.
Thanks!
