Navigation DVD backup

Has anybody made a backup copy of their navigation dvd? With the dual layer format dvd copiers coming out in the market will this work. I have a Eclipse AVN2454. I was told that the Lexus and Toyota nav systems are all made by Eclipse or by Denso. I've seen the Toyota/Lexus navigation dvds on sale on ebay and they are not sure if this will work on the Eclipse.

HAve you tried with a none-DL unit? how much data is really on it really over 4.7GB?

I personally haven't done it...but several people on siennaclub.org have reported it does indeed work.

The dvd is about 8.5 gig.
