I am thinking about going with a Kenwood DNX7120 to replace my Garmin. It looks really tacky hanging off my dash, and the double sided tape does not hold it up in hot weather.

Does anyone have any input, bad or good, about this model? Any models that may be preferred over this one? Thanks.

Will it work with JBL and steering wheel controls with the needed wiring?

Or would something like the AVIC-Z3 be worth the extra few hundred $$??

I've been researching (for a Sequoia) and it should work. You'll need one of these since you have the JBL system:

And one of these for steering wheel controls:

Will also need a trim kit, not sure what the consensus is whether METRA or SCOSCHE is better.

I've been looking at the JVC NX7000. Looks pretty good on paper although it's a new model and there aren't too many hands on reviews available yet. There are a few threads available over on avic411.

I used to have a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 but got broken into and my car got destroyed. The insurance company replaced my entire dash and everything around it and now I have a Pioneer AVIC-Z2. Since the break-in, I also had a ViperGPS tracking device and alert system installed in my '04 T4R. It will call your cell phone, send a text message and send an email to two (2) separate accounts if somebody else has your keys (Valet parking), and your car gets messed (glass breakage or any substantial movement).
