Navigation OEM Install??

Does anyone if the Toyota Navigation can be added to a 2007 4Runner? The current Stereo is the one with the six changer CD system. The Dealer told me it can't be installed after the fact. But thats the same thing they told me with the VIP system for my '02 Tacoma. Which I was able to install.

Of course anything "can" be done at a cost. The NAV unit takes the bezel and AC/display panel from the single CD player (and the JBL unit with external amplifier). So unless you find someone willing to swap their trim for your old radio and trim - it takes some heafty bucks for the plastic pieces.

I added VIP system to my '03 - took several hours due to amount of dash pieces tha need to swapped. Think I had to cut and splice in 1 wire.

I was doing a search about 4 runner navigation system because we took our car for service and when it was all set ant done we went to pick it up and the nav system is not working anymore. A message on the screen says "external system not connected". The service people want nothing to do with it. They checked it and they are telling us that the nav unit is defective. This is really hard to believe as the screen is lit and all other displays work (radio etc..) Does anyone know what the problem might be. The dealer is telling us that they checked everything and that the unit needs to be replaced.

Do you still have radio functions? As in sound coming out your speakers?
