Wednesday AM my navi was working just fine. Went out again in PM and got error message "unable to read data" and something like DVD not a map DVD. Went to Toyota dealer on Friday and was told that the system had to be reset. The service person also told me that the tech told him that the DVD had been removed and had smudges on it. Paperwork stated that the DVD was "dirty". The DVD has never been removed by me and no one else has access to vehicle. I think that the system just got flakey and it's highly probable that the DVD had smudges on it before I purchased it. Any one else had any problems with the navi? Before this happened I was getting this static-like noise from the front area of runner, only heard it while driving never when stopped. The noise stopped about a day before the navi went down. Don't know if this had anything to do with it since the vehicle has creaks and rattles that seem to come and go at random.
