Need '85 tr4 ecm ..help....i think ...where to find ?

I have been working on my SR5 & as I am Installing Manual Oil Pres fitting I hear a POP.. Electrical ......Now I have NO power anywhere >>>> While checking with a test Lt I discover EVERYTHING is Hot ! 12vlts + ......Firewall,Engine,Grounds,ECM HSNG, UH OH ...this is BAD !
After ALOT of Searching I find The Main feed wire 8 ga.to Fuse Box on Pas side has been Spliced with a 19 inch Section of 12ga. & has got Very hot ! This wire Fed the Alt Plug. I Replaced it with all new 8ga. & WALA...I have Power .......but it will not Run Now ....only for about 2 seconds & die , I Replaced the Fuel Pump Relay due to Excessive noise & a Instant kick out but the same...will only run for about 2 seconds & die . Any Ideas of what next ?

"Runs for a second and dies" sounds exactly like an unplugged AFM. Check your signal off the AFM, and verify continuity on the wire that runs across the valve cover into the green plug next to your coil pack that that I don't know it's exact function but makes your truck act exactly like the AFM is bad when it's unplugged.

I'm betting you've got more crisped wires somewhere.

AFM ? ....MAF ? There is a Coil but no Coil Pack .I will check it & Thanks for All the help !

SHE IS ALIVE !!!! Kept checkin wire Continuity & found 1 Broke Coming out of the Exciter Box . Thanks

Now the next time your working on the truck, disconnect the Negative cable from the battery to avoid this kind of stuff.

It was a blessing in disguise.....Really.... it exposed some other issues in my Driveway instead of out on the road or in BFE ....That's my Story & I'm Stickin to it ! You Cannot Splice 8ga with 12 ga wire as the Previous Owner did .
