Need a good Mechanic For my Classic

I just got up and running with my '95 4wd classic, and need a good mechanic in the Roseville/Rocklin/Galleria area.

I want to make sure everything is up to par and working well. I don't think it is too far off right now.

The truck is my daily driver but I live pretty close to work. I want to get into 4wheeling. I am completely new aside from what I have seen on TV and movies. Which is basically still nothing. I want to do it as more of a side hobby. If I had the funds I would go all out. But I am not quite at that level.

Basically, some stuff to make it fun for offroad, and still drivable to work. I am willing to do a decent amount in the long run though. Tires should be good till next summer or so. Here is what I am working with:

Is the reason you want a mechanic is to build it for off road? Or is there something wrong with it?

A little of both actually. But at least for now, a mechanic to fix things when they break. I can do some basic things. But I don't know a whole heck of a lot and I need to learn too. So I think when I do upgrades or things for offroad and have the time, I would want to do it myself or have a friend help. But I still need to get more tools though.

But working full time and attempting to start a business tends to leave me with not a lot of time sometimes. So for now, it's a little of both.

Download or buy a Factory Service Manual. Learn to work on your truck. A mechanic isnt going to come fix it on the trail for you, and by doing the work your self, you'll have more money for parts and a much better understanding of the truck your driving/wheeling!

Find a local club to wheel with. Let someone in the area show you the ropes.

If you plan to run it on the trail, you need to get rid of the running board first.....or just wait till the trail eat it up.
Ride along with a local club first. It should give you a good idea of what you're getting yourself into. Your truck won't look like that for long if you're hooked.

Hey man,
I just posted on a thread kinda like this.
I know its kinda a hike, but there's a pro down in sonoma where I live.
His shop is called mudrak. He's been working on toyotas for decades, and he has a high standard of work. He specializes in toyotas. He fixed up my 94 for a very reasonable price. He'll do any work you could imagine, and with a high level of professionalism. I'd definitely say he's worth the drive. I always see the yotas he works on all around town, and they are sweet!
