This is a sensitive topic, not really sensitive but coming into it with minimal motive you'll be bombarded with information.
You are, without a doubt, going to want to revamp your entire suspension (struts, and coils/leaves, t bars ....depending).
I can only tell you that I have used The Old Mans (emu) parts twice....two full kits, one for my prior 2005 v8 sport 4runner (totalled sans insurance-- doh!) and one set on my new 87 4runner. They are quality without question, thats why I chose them (and a runner) twice.
My good friend has an 04 f150 (2wd ugh), but he wasted a bunch of money on a pro-comp setup. (Mind you, I say waste bc the truck was 2wd) This was BEFORE i did up my 05.
Anyway, looking at his parts now, they are all rusting pretty badly. His crossmember is pretty toasted and the shocks themselves look like total crap from rust....... in cab, it stil rides decent ON ROAD.
I am biased though FOR SURE, I dont have much faith in american made stuff. I honestly doubt you could go wrong either way, I seriously contemplated the PC lift myself, for the extra 1" of lift, but im glad I didnt. My truck is plenty high enough and im 6'2" (65% legs, 35% torso lol).
That being said, dude, do some QUICK searches here and at other yotar sites and you'll come away with a better feel.
As fas as diff drops go, it seems that ive read (from reputable sources) that they are pretty useless. I didnt have one on my 05 and dont plan on one for my 87. To each their own though mate, I havent used one so I CANT REALLY say. But I have done a ****e load of research.
In the end, you get what you pay for and good things come to those who wait, are two phrases i like.
