Need advice on buying 4 runner !!!???

Whats up Everybody , Looking to buy my first 4runner just need some advice on this one I found in San Diego. It has 170,000 miles. Is that too many miles for $7000. Here is the link on CL 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4X4 Locking Rear Differential .

I Know Toyota's will run over 200k but is it a good deal ???

4runners last forever, but starting at 170k is pretty high. I would wait and keep looking for another one.

170k is a lot (really not that much for a 98 model though). Hell I will be well past 200k when my 03 is 13 years old. If that price is flexible I might try to talk him down. I think you can find a better deal than that though. Good luck on your search!

Looks can be deceiving. At 170K, there should be LOTS of PM done, new plugs and wires if nothing else. The statement "always used Chevron Mid grade gas, added the Fuel Injector Cleaner with every oil change" does not constitute good maintenance.

$7K is too much.

If the seller has the maintenance records to show that it was taken care of, then 170k miles isn't too bad to start off with. However, for $7k, the price is too high, as others have said.

I bought my 01 SR5 4x4 with 158k on it for 7k, and I got it from a little old lady that had every receipt from everything ever done to it. She had everything done at the dealership, there's even a receipt for here taking it in just to get new wiper blades :wow2: . So I felt pretty comfortable with it. I dunno about 7k for a 98 though, others that have been around longer will have better info
