need advice on front end overhaul

I purchased new lbjs, inner and outer tie rods, and lca bushings. Is there anything else I should replace while all that is apart?

When I steer left and right I hear a very soft popping sound. I can't tell if it's coming from my steering rack or my "quick disconnect" sway bar end links. I'm fairly certain it's the links because it will sometimes do it while driving straight.

Anyone care to drive my rig around in a parking lot to give me an opinion?

I have replaced suspension, sway bar bushings, tundra brakes, sway bar end links, steering rack bushings, cv axles, axle seals, upper control arms, and brake lines.

Looks like you got everything covered. Depending on the year of your rig, steering rack guide mod.

If you're doing that much you might a well replace the UCA bushings, and the UBJ. You're talking about another $150-$200.

He has new UCAs.


Only thing you left out that I see is LCA bushings. Some say they are a lot of work, but are totally worth it. I haven't done mine yet and haven't decided if I will or not.

I'm very perplexed by the sway bar end links though. Does anyone have insight on how they got theirs off / on?

Do they clunk on your vehicle?

I would think taking them off would be as simple as pulling those pins on them. Not sure though, don't have disconnects yet. I'd say disconnect and drive the truck and see if it still makes the noise.

And if it does pop after that, your LBJs could be the issue. Get that fixed as a 'quick disconnect' with LBJs is a catastrophe!

Rather surprised you didn't do these parts during all the other replacements. You'll have a new truck when it's a said and done....
