Need advice on possible collision repair evidence

Hi

Just took possession of 4Runner I've been chasing a while. Low mile, late year sport V8 4WD.

As I look the car over some things look off. Beside the bug shield -that's gotta go- the wheel wells are not uniform and there is a plastic panel on one side of car that's not on other. I'm not sure what it is but it's bugging me. I figure I could take it to Carmax those guys are experts and have them do a estimate or a Toyota dealer but I thought I'd ask somebody here Car drives s little mushy too. Do 4WD DRIVE a little softer than AWD 2X?

Thanks. Hoping I did not get hosed. Bought car from dlr out of state who seems very above board. It's hard to explain but it's almost like undercarriage is to clean for 9 yr old car.

What are we looking at here? Bottom pic is of the passengers rear and the top? I'll take pics of mine and post. So one side has a plastic cover? Can't really see that in the pic provided. Anyway, FWIW, I'm in the rust belt and my rig wasn't under coated ever. Can't stand when dealers/whoever put undercoating when it's not needed.

I'd say spraypaint,
they got the top of the shock and the rubber bushing too.

Probably just an effort to hide any surface rust, and they got carried away (well, definitely not with the masking). Those wheelwells wind up brown even when they're kept very clean, in my experience.

You should be able to find out if it was in a collision though?? Do you have any other indications that it was, or just that spraypaint everywhere? Is it like that in all the wheelwells?
