Need advice on warranty????

I have a 2007 4runner sport with 58K on it. I just bought it this summer---I bought it from a Honda Dealer and I did not buy there crappy warranty. If I go to toyota---will they give me a warranty? What kinds of exteneded warranties are out there? And what price should I have in the back of my mind before they try to take advantage of me? Is there a 100K or 125 PowerTrain that they will extend it to, or since I did not buy it from them---will they tell me to take a hike? I am going in tomorrow because my car is getting an oil change. You may be able to get an extended warranty. prices vary and are give aways from dealers. We had a group buy here and got 7 year/100 K no deduct for $835. ask around. try Molle Toyota google it. They sold us ours.

From what I understand, the extended warranty from Toyota has to be purchased within the first 3 years/36,000 miles. Can anyone confirm this?

We looked at a few warranties and were quoted around $2,000 from a 3rd party warranty company. The warranty from Toyota would be the only one we are interested in, but we have 70k miles on our '07 so don't think we qualify. I haven't spoken with a dealer yet (we just purchased the car, so haven't taken it in for any service yet).

I don't think you will be able to add a Platinum/Gold warranty unless you can get it CPO'ed.
