Need Advice on what to do...

I am picking up my rig from the shop. The issue I took it in for was leaking valve cover gasket that was replaced...well, I got it back and it then has little heat coming from heater....but ran like a champ, no over heating etc (never has had ANY issue with heater, overheating etc since owning it for 8k miles now).
Anyway, took it back and after new Rad, thermostat, heater valve (on firewall) still little heat. When they flushed system it was full of rust looking or dirt....sooooo, today they tell me they got some heat to come from system after they flushed it again, scraped out hoses etc..but they THINK its now due to faulty water pump not pushing enough flow through it! Uhg! The thing is, the water pump, etc was just changed by prior owner (have paperwork from shop that did it) 30 days before I purchased it. (who knows though at this point!)
So here is my question.....rig is fine to drive, zero heat issues (im talking about over heating, etc) so does it sound like the water pump is going out? Heck, do they go out like this causing low flow but ZERO over heating issues, etc?
Strange I know and I really feel like the guys at the shop are doing everything they can but I have spent all my funds (credit card, etc) so I will need to drive the rig for a bit. What do you think?

I would suspect a blocked heater core before the water pump. I say this because you saying the engine operating temp is fine but no heat out of vents. That is my 2cents, but it is hard to say. I can tell you that sometimes a new water pump will not flow at the proper rate but then you would end up with it running hotter also.

Thanks for the input on this. I am stumped as is the dealer. But yep, the rig drives etc all normal temps! Strange I know!

I agree with Pikeman. I don't see how your waterpump could be bad and not overheat your engine. Try the Brian2sun trick and unhook your heater hoses, hook up a garden hose and force water through the heater core both ways and see if it helps.
