Need Expert advice please!

I just bought a new 07 Sport automatic transmission V6. I drive about 50,000 miles a year for work, here are my questions:

I drive about 5,000 miles a month, 90% of these miles are highway miles... and I do regular oil changes every 3,000 to 4,000 miles....How many miles am I likely to get out of my 07?

My company gives me an allowance to make my payments, I can buy a new car after this one dies on me in about 3 years, but if I could get a new engine, or tranny or whatever I need to get another lifetime out of the rig I would love it....

How much would this cost, and would it be worth it?

The interior and body has been, and will be kept in great shape and I hate to get rid of my first 4runner ever after 3 years...I think I would love to keep this one and just spend a few grand on reviving it, instead of spending 30+k on a new one again.

Please let me know if you can help....Thankyou!!!!!

So you drive 50,000 miles per year for work, but you drive 60,000 miles per year overall? In three years, that's 180,000 miles total. If you change your oil at the intervals you suggested and maintain your 4Runner properly, I highly doubt your 4Runner will need a new engine at 180,000 miles. You're talking about a Toyota here, not a domestic vehicle! I've seen Toyotas with more than 300,000 on an engine without any major failures. If getting the most possible miles out of your vehicle is your goal, you made the right choice by buying a Toyota.

i'd go 5k mile intervals at a minimum on conventional oil. the oil filter will catch and filter contaminants well. I'd go longer with synthetic.

If the oil is not dirty, don't change it earlier than it needs to be.

Toyota has 5k OCI. I think it's a waste of money going earlier than this. Toyota should easily last 200k and if the engine blows in 3 years, just get another one installed in the same body. In 3 years the engines will still be readily available and much cheaper than buying a whole new car.

+1 to that!! (although I still change my oil & filter every 3500 to 4000, even with synthetic)

I thought I read a post where you said your 4Runner is a lease? It that's accurate, then why do you use synthetic and why do you change your oil that often with synthetic? Most people who lease aren't really too worried about engine longevity...
