Need Help Choosing Lift Kit/Tires

Hi,
i am new to the whole 4 runner forum. i am currently in high school and have a 1996 4 runner sr5 2x4. everything on the SUV is stock other than my 2 12 inch subs i purchased and a new radio. I was talking to my father about getting a lift kit put on my 4 runner. i was looking for kits here: Complete Lift Kits - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits

this brand seems to be quite popular on the forums. It would be nice if i could get some clarity on the difference in a BODY lift and a lift kit with coils. I dont plan to do any type of off-roading other than occasionally driving my SUV on the beach.

I also need help with tires. I plan on keeping the stock 15" rims and getting them powder coated black. i would like an affordable tire that would look good with a 2" lift.

Thank you so much for that link. i was reading other threads about how body lifts only give more tire clearance rather than actual lift to the ride. i dont believe ill be getting too large of a tire. which type of lift will raise my SUV rather than more tire clearance?

Just put a 2" in body lift and some 32x12.50r15

when you say 2" body lift you are referring to spacers, correct?

you can put 2" to 2 1/2" by getting spacers for your coils.. and a 2-3" body lift.. if your not going to be offroading and just wanna sit taller than id go with a body lift just cause its cheaper.. spacers are cheap also

body lifts are spacer in between your body and frame you can also get spacers to put inside your springs

3" body lift = more mods to your 4runner than you probably want to handle.

Yeah if your doing it just for looks than its alot cheaper.. if your doing it for off road than you wanna pay more so **** dont break on you all the time..

.. This is true.. sorry.. stick with 2" suspension and 2" body at the most because you will have to mod things and replace lines

so i should get a body lift AND suspension lift? will this add up to a total of 4" or will the weight of the SUV lower the height?

4" total if you did both.. plus bigger tires raise height also..

You would be gaining anywhere from 1/4-1/2 in just in tire height not to mention the 2" body lift. I'd say it's definitely noticeable over stock.

Just get a set of 99 coils and shocks.
