Need help deciding on a Sub - Polk or JL

I'm going to be installing an 8" sub in the factory JBL enclosure location. I'm trying to decide between a Polk DB840 or JL Audio 8W1v2. What would you guys recommend? The JL has a mounting depth that's less than 4" and the Polk's is right at 4".

been thinking about doing something to my ride as well, haven't been into car audio since 2000 and i see alot has changed. i remember the W0's being the affordable (and best) subs from JL, but now that i've had a taste for the W7's nothing seems ot sound better (albeit for ALOT more money than the W0's which seem to be discontinued).

if you need a shallow fitment then go for the 8W1v2's with your eyes closed but if you can handle the 7 inch mounting depth, 3 ohm load and the $430 pricetag that goes with it there is pretty much nothing like the 8W7-3 out there.

as you can see i'm not a huge fan of polk audio.
