Need help deciding!

Oh I will deff be cleaning it up. It's nothing major just hasn't been cleaned in a while and with her kids and a crazy german sheppard, it needs some tlc on the interior, but nothing that can't be cleaned. But I do want some sort of seat cover just to protect it from anything I do.

I must say I enjoy this forum and have never found a site of any topic that has been so helpful and kind to a new member that is truly a novice. Everyone here has eased my mind on purchasing my first 4runner, and for that I am thankful.

I am starting to see that. I am glad that this site exists for newbies such as myself because I was skeptical about the 4Runner, having never owned one or a suv for that matter.
 
No doubt now right? My dad has seen how great my 02' is and is serioull thinkin about getting one because they are just so good.
 
Oh no doubts whatsoever. I'm going this weekend to check it out and do some driving around in it and if everything works out it will be bought next week.
 
Yeah, Toyota hit it out of the park with the 3rd gen. By far the best combo of style, comfort, power/mpgs (for the time), off road capability, price, and overall usefulness of all the generations of 4runners. I have no doubt you will fall in love with it like the rest of us. I still haven't found a suitable replacement in almost a decade - and don't even want to.
 
I agree, even from an outside looking in perspective. I have always wanted a suv because of the comfort, versatility, and capabilities and have enjoyed the ride being in this one and their other one (2001 Limited) and can;'t wait to own it.

On a side note, does anyone have any idea to what % the back windows are tinted to? I would like to match the front to the rear.
 
Just take it to a tint shop and ask them to match the back they'll probably want 60-80 bucks and it'll match, that's what I did and I am more than satisfied!

NO offense is intended but I have noticed that when something is not broken it does not get attended to. But yes that is a smokin' deal so get it and we'll help you deal with all the stuff that has not been mentioned.

1/ The timing belt and water pump should have been done at 90K. I am guessing they were not. Budget around $750 for that. New belts and hoses are typically done at that time as well.

2/ The strawberry milkshake can be a big deal. It's a gamble. Lower your odds of damaging your tranny by simply planning to replace the radiator. About $120 online shipped to you. KOYO A1998 is a popular choice. Good time to do it? When the waterpump gets done. Toyota red 2 gals /distilled water 2 gals/a couple of quarts of ATF fluid will also be needed.

Auto Tranny flush never a bad idea. Same with power steering flush. Think of every fluid in the vehicle and have it replaced or do it yourself. Synthetic oils in the differentials and tranny a good step. Brake fluid flush. Easy to do with some helpers.

Fuel gauge may be inaccurate-clocks are known to fail- these are inconvenience items only and can be repaired. Sagging butt? Pretty common but we will have you lifting in no time anyways...

thats is a GREAT deal! if you dont take it, can I?? yeah, just like everyone said, when you get it, do some maint on it, like the timing belt, and an external tranny if its automatic. But even with the maintenance, it will still be a complete steal.

get some pics up and Im sure everyone here will help you spend your money modding it! :)
