Need help from a 3rd Gen Owner

Hi 3rd Gen Owners,

I have a 1st Gen with the removable shell. I am considering putting a Bajarack on my 1st Gen, and want to see if a 3rd Gen Bajarack will fit on mine (as they do not make a model specific to the 1st Gen).

Can someone please measure the distance (width) from center to center of the factory roof rails? This will enable me to decide whether it can be done. Otherwise, I will have to use the generic kind that attach to the cross rails. I would prefer to use the 3rd Gen model specific rack (if it can be done), as it is lower-profile.

Thanks in advance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

36 - 3/4" center to center. can anyone else back me on that?

Thanks for posting your responses, Viking97SR5 and techno. Looks like I'm out of luck on using the 3rd Gen Bajarack. . . by just a couple of inches. I'll have to think of something else.
