NEED HELP!!! Getting my lift kit all leveled out

I just installed a Toytec 3 inch suspension in lift. How long should I wait until I adjust the coilovers? I had everything with in an 1/8th inch. After a week of running around I checked everything again, it was all messed up. It was within an 1/8th inch now it's out by as much as 1 inch :redbrick:. I just wanted to see if anybody else had this problem. Does the shocks and springs have to settle? I been taking my measurements from the center of the rim to the bottom of the fender. Is this right? I called Toytec and they said that the springs can be out as much as 1/2 inch. I guess that I can't get the alignment until I get the coilovers adjusted so that the 4Runner is level. I looked at the stuff that you guys posted and could not find anything on getting the suspension set up. Am I missing it?

If you installed the Toytec "Ultimate" lift, it can take a few weeks to settle in. The kit is set at 3" from the factory (does not require adjustment at this time), and will come down at about 1/8" - 1/4", over a few weeks.

Every time I jacked the front end up, I would have to drive it around and let it settle down. Then over night it would settle more. It took me 4 or 5 times of adjusting to get it within an 1/8 of an inch. I have the drivers side set tighter. I messed with it for about a week before I took it in for alignment. Another thing is that i backed them off from the so called 2.5 inch setting from toytec so it wouldnt ride quite so high. Get it set the way you want it before going to the alignment shop.

Someone told me about these issues and this is the first I heard about it with people on here .

How much screwing around is there to getting the CO's set ? Whats all involved in the adjusting process ? is it hard to do ??

This is why someone told me to do the OME set up instead of the CO's . I did not believe them . Do you think the CO kit is worth it ?? I was thinking of switching from the OME to the Toytec CO lit since I never installed the OME yet.

Advice/opinions please ..... I'm looking for a good on road ride , but still be able to level it side to side since we all know the 4R had a little lean to one side.

The toytec Coilovers have a threaded nut that adjusts the tension on the spring. Similiar to an aftermarket ATV shock but on a bigger scale. I took mine out offroading and hill climbing last weekend and was surprised on how well it handled on the rough terrain. Making a flag holder and planning on a trip to the Little Sahara this weekend! Anybody have experience with how they will get around in the dunes???

I feel that the Toytec lift gives a better then stcok ride. It is as EZ as 123 to adjust the CO's. From what I have been reading it all has to settle in. All in all I'm happy with the Toytec lift. Just can't wait until it's done settling in.

Ok good , glad to hear that. I think I may do the switch.
