O.k., I know this will be next to impossible, but maybe you guys have some ideas for things I can check. I did a search and nothing seems to match what I am experiencing. I have an 01 4Runner. Recently I did the plugs, wires, transfer case and read differential fluids, as well as an oil change.
I don't know if this was here prior, but it is now. When I accelerate, I here a slight noise up to about 35-40 MPH. It goes away after that. It's not a clunk, click, grind, etc. It's more like a scratch, or what static sounds like on one of those static balls...LOL. It only occurs when I am on the accelerator. If I take my foot off, it immediately goes away. Once I push it again, under 40 mph, it makes the sound briefly, but goes away.
Any ideas at all?
