need help if i dont get the trd rims

thanks for all the help and ideas. ya those little wheels are crazy. you'd think toyota would like to make some money. i mean now they lost an extra $600 well more cause i was gonna get the trd lug locks and locking valve caps so ya i think i narrowed it down to what i may get instead. American Racing makes some pretty nice teflon black wheels. who would of thought? i always made fun of kids with the AR's on their civics and cavilers haha! you remember those ugly triangle wheels? haha but yeah some local shops are gonna hook me up. ive been looking at the cooper zeon ltz tire or the kumho road venture's ill post some pics

my set up

ok so no trd wheels but... this is what i ordered instead. i plan on getting the trd caps if anyone knows where i can snag some please let me know thanks. i cant wait to get it i saw these wheels on a tacoma and it looked pretty sick. im thinking on going white letters out with the tires. let me know what you think. They should be on next week some time. i got the set up installed with all the roadside waranty at Discount Tire for a little over $1200

za tires

i dont know i looked all over for tires that looked good. i liked the kumhos but they didn't have my size. i was close to getting the BFG's but heard some bad reviews of them in the snow and i live in utah when it snows in june, so i was lookin in a 4 wheel magazine and saw these and fell in love. For most ive heard that their pretty good for the price. of course there were some people that hated them but there's never something that everyone likes here's the pic

AAHHHH! you got the procomp 7089 that i have been wanting, lucky peckerhead, seriously though those wheels are filthy, i have every intention on having them by summer but i have to spend my first couple paychecks at my new job wisely, ..... what size did you get?
 
you got the cooper's?? see now im jelous! the only size they had wouldn't fit without a lift! what size did you get? That was my 1st choice on tires. I stuck with the 16's just cause im trying to play it safe (money wise) plus i only got 4 so if i was to get a flat or something i can still use my spare and not mess things up. Plus i didn't want to throw off the speed O and decrease the gas milage and all that jazz. but ya i was very tempted to go bigger and get those cooper zeon's very nice tire.. but i hear ya on the money thing its goin to set me back for a little bit but hopfully i nice tax return will be waiting for me.
 
yea mine is lifted, and still rubs a little when I get it in a bind, but yea i think the cooper zeon ltz's are a little bit of a sleeper tire, not that many people have them but the ones that do swear by them, and I am wanting to down grade to an 18 inch wheel prolly, i like my wheels but they weigh ALOT, the procomps are more worthy off road wheel i think they make the coopers in a 275/70r18 , i will prolly do a little body lift since it's under $200 and that size is a little bigger than what I got now
 
ya for sure, the guy tried to sell me 20's he showed some pics of his runner with them on there and they look pretty bad A but the lbs is a big issue. Im tryin to decide on a lift though i still want to get in the garage and all but i dont know. i gotta get some new struts soon so maybe ill do something then.
 
So i went to the "Toy" store today and ordered me some of the black TRD center caps to put on the pro comps when they come in. i dont know if they will fit or not but im crossing my fingers:clap: i guess 2 of them are in a Cali warehouse and 2 out in New York. but i was trying to convince the guy that toyota will let me have the caps just not the rims. so we'll see how it goes!
 
I was thinking about the 7089's, but then I saw them on Corey's FJ (He is a mod on Yota Tech) and I decided that I didn't like them.

I am interested to see what they look like on your 4runner though. I never heard you say if you stuck with the 265/70/R16 or went with the 265/75/R16.
 
i got the 265 70R-16's. So are the 75's wider? but ya i saw them on that fj on yota tec too and it wasn't workin for me either. but the tacoma looked pretty sick. i kinda like the deep dish look and hopefully ill get those trd caps. ill be super happy:jump:
 
it is? haha im an idiot One of the tire guys i visited while getting estimates was sayin 1st number was the height, But wait its 32 = 265 or whatever the number is i know the last one is the rim size. dang crazy :cannon: numbers! now im all confused
 
KellyJ has it right. The first number is width, second is height, and third is rim size. I believe the first two are measured in mm and the third is in inches.

When are you getting the rims?
 
ok that makes sence. but ya im hoping that everything will be there some time this week. Discount had to order everything and they said it would take a few days. But ya hopefully there is none of this back order crap. Its ridiculous! im gonna give up on rims and save my money if it doesn't work! At least its an easier wheel to find this time!
 
ya i checked everywhere before i landed a good place. I went to all the big and small tire shops. I was basicly looking for a good deal with someone that wants to help me. But ya i told the guy where i wanted to be and the first set up he showed me was these Liquid Metal Gatlin wheels. i wasn't too fond of them but when everything pulled up he started discounting all the prices on the wheels the tires the labor. I was like i like this guy! haha so the 2nd time i went in and showed him the set up i wanted, he jumped on the phone and got it all done and once again dropping the prices on everything like i was some angry irate customer or something. but ya they rock im pretty stoked i got everything a little over 1200.
