Need help/info with brush guard mounting brackets on 2nd Gen

I bought the factory brush guard aka "nudge bar" for the 2nd gen Hilux Surf (KZN130) off of craigslist for my 2nd gen, domestic, 4Runner. The seller didn't have the mounting brackets. Before I resort to fabricating custom brackets, I wanted to see if anyone has experience with this.

Does anyone know what the factory brackets look like or where I can find some, or if there is a universal bracket that works for this application? I've seen some tow hook mounts on UK and Australian ebay sites but I don't think they're the for mounting the nudge bar. It's difficult searching for this because of the age of the vehicle, the fact that it's only in foreign markets, and because the bar is listed as different names (i.e. bumper bar, nudge bar, A-bar, grill(e) guard, brush guard, and bull bar!)

Attached pics are what the nudge bar looks like mounted and what the attachment points look like. Thanks for any info you can offer!

Any chance that part of the end of the nudge bar can rotate around? Maybe by loosing it or something? It looks like the holes might line up with the ones already on the frame, and that the bracket just needs to rotate 90 degrees.

That's probably too easy, but it's worth checking just in case. I've never seen a push bar like that around here on a 4runner, and don't know exactly how the grille guards attach.

FYI, in the picture of under your 4runner, there was a hook with protector on those 2 holes with rust around them. On the other side (drivers), there was another attachment point, but that one is just a hole in some metal...not a hook.

missing "L" bracket

There is a "L" bracket that bolts to the nudge bar and bolts to the sides of the frame. It attaches to the same threaded hole as the front hooks but the bolts need to be longer. I never was able to find the mounting plates- (UK Ebay ) was forced to fabricate out of 3/8 thick 4 inch square tubing. I can send a picture tomorrow

Yeah, I had a similar thought if I were to make custom brackets. A picture would be awesome! Also, if it's convenient for you, maybe a couple bracket dimensions...? I realized that there would be some offset considerations as the measurement between the inside of the brackets on the nudge bar is longer than the measurement of the frame from outside wall to outside wall, requiring the sidewall of the custom bracket to extend out from the frame maybe an inch or so.

I understand if that's asking too much. Honestly, any help at all is greatly appreciated.

bracket size

The Bull Bracket is angle steel 3/8 inch thick that was cut out of square tubing.The measurements were 6 inch by 2 1/2 inch width which is the width of the frame itself. A correction I would do would be to make the drop side a little wider so i could adjust the bullbar up and down and closer to the front bumper. Looking at the mounted picture you can see a little of the "L" bracket drop ~ 1/2 inch. The drill holes were a guess but elongated holes would give you the adjustments if needed. The metric bolts would have to be a little longer then the ones that hold the tow hooks.Those are the attachments points to the frame. The tow hooks would go top of the mounting bracket. hope this helps. The JDM nudge bar will set your rig apart.

Dude! Thank you so much, I really appreciate the info! I will take this all into consideration when fabricating. Having a picture helps for reference. I figure the hole placements on the bracket will be the most difficult part but I'll look into elongated holes as you suggested..
P.S. Did you end up utilizing the round peg and curved lower tab that are on the nudge bar bracket at all? Let me know if you find any other pics or think of any other helpful details, what you've given me helps a lot, Thanks!

Yeah, the company I bought the nudge bar from was selling a bunch of 2nd gen surf parts and they even had the "take-off" style spoiler, if that's the one you're talking about. They still have it for sale for $50 actually..I'll post the link(s) if anyone in the greater Seattle area is interested.

If I had a second gen, I'd be all over the spoiler.

As for the peg & tab, just make a template out of cardbord so you can sign up all the holes or cut them off.
