Need Help--Issues w/OEM fender flares..?

Need some quick help from the pros!

I was in an accident a month or so ago, and the front drivers side was impacted.

The shop ordered a new fender flare for that side.

When it was put on the car there are dimples along the topside of the flare. It looks like crap!!

I asked for them to order another one.

The shop is telling me that ALL of the OEM flares from Toyota are now coming with these dimples.

I don't believe them. Any ideas on this?

Are you referring to the "knuckles" (three distint bumps) that the early 2003 SR5 and Sport Edition with the gray body cladding had? The later 2003-05 4Runners fender flares do not have the "knuckles" and the cladding and flares are body colored. If it has the "knuckles" then more than likely the shop got 2003 gray flares and painted it. The body colored flares come painted from Toyota.

I don't know if the body colored flares and cladding have a slight texture to it or not like like the rear bumper pad on the '06. My '06 flares are completely smooth, but my '05 Tacoma's flares are colored but has a visible texture to it.

Not the knuckles, but the color matched flare.

I went down to the shop yesterday. They had the one on the car and another one they had ordered. The guy was trying to tell me that they changed the mold. I said BS. Told him if it is the mold it should be in the same spot on both pieces. We matched them up and the dimples aren't even close together. I told him to try again.
