Ok. So Im having a little trouble with the Runner.

When shes been parked for a while, maybe 4 hours or so when i put it in drive she feels very heavy and when i accelerate she starts shuddering, shaking, what ever you wanna call it. and after i get it going it wont do it again. Someone please help me it a good truck but it been going on for weeks now and my mechanic says he needs to see/hear it so he can determine what it is. Its a 99 SR5 V6
Any help would be grately appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, your mechanic is right. I would start by seeing if there are any Check Engine codes in it, even if the light isn't currently on. It might have some pending issues stored.

I belive its the drive line making the shutter. And my next step is to bring it to pepboys to have it diagnosed even if the light isnt on.
Im getting ready to give up on her and buy a 4th gen.

There are other threads in here that describe something similar and replacing the plugs or wires has helped. Maybe try that?

Yeah, there's quite a list of things it could be, and it's too much to put down in here. I don't even have any gut feelings about it yet, and I don't want to contribute to you heading in the wrong direction with a repair. If you don't have or want to spend a lot of money on it at the moment, then you certainly don't want to be shotgunning parts at it either.

There's a good chance that it's something relatively cheap, and that it would run great for a long time after that, but there's still the possibility that it's something more expensive. Check for codes and check the fluids and check around under the hood for anything obviously out of place or messed up. Not much else to go on yet.

Sticky brake caliper or leaking axle seals would be my guess since it only happens once and then it's fine.

Why would the leaking axle seals cause this? Mine does this on occasion and I do have a leak in the passenger rear axle seal. Pretty slow leak, diff level is not too low and no fluid on the tire, but it is on the shoe and drum.

Yes, I do plan on fixing it, just wondering what is sticking? causing the shudder from the leaky axle?

The gear oil gets all over the brake shoes and then they stick to the drums. Happens in cold weather most of the time. They stick really bad then.

Well you'll need to invest SOMETHING in it to have it run right. Try a basic tuneup, wires/plugs/air cleaner the see what happens. You could also try the FSM's list of possibilities. Its the same things a good mechanic will do, follow a checklist. BTW a 4th, 5th or whatever gen can give you issues, so buckleup and deal with it unless you've got a money tree! Luck!

I think it has something to do with the brakes or a leaking axle. Because when it's going to shudder I feel when I accelerate the truck like something is holding her back.

I think it's a leaking axle or something with the brakes because I feel that when I accelerate I feel like the e-brake is on.

Thanks everybody for the quick response, I will update once I get it to the mechanic although now i think I know where it's coming from. I think the rear brakes are sticking because when I can feel when its gonna shake/shudder the truck feels like the e-brake is on.
Unfortunately I'm working a double today and tomorrow and I'm leaving on vacation Thursday, but I will keep you guys posted.
Thanks
