It just pops out.

First open the armrest / center console. Then pull out the small piece that goes around the shifter knob. With that out, the piece you are talking about just lifts out. No bolts anywhere.

Two things... if the first picture is accurate as far as final position of the gun, that's a terrible place for it - esp if you're right handed. You are not able to acquire a decent grip on it as it's too close to the console. If you plan on attaching a holster that sticks out, that might work but it won't leave any room for the seat to move front or back. Second, if you're left handed, that's gonna be really awkward.

zopperman's idea works but you have to have the holster spaced far enough away from the bottom of the column so you are grabbing the pistol palm down, not palm up. Why? Because it's a more natural way to grip a gun, esp single handed. Pictures:

Most of us are right handed and will use a right handed holster which will leave it under the column like this:

If you can mount it like this:

You already have your master grip and it's canted in the direction your arm will naturally go while gripping a gun with one hand.

Normally when I'm driving around, my gun is in my lap. I'm slightly more paranoid than most because of my job and I also live in the town I work in and somewhat close to an area I arrest a lot of people in. I want no lag if I need it.

That's not the extact position and the mold isn't mocked up in the picture. I've made dozens with the attachment I'm using but generally have them on thigh rigs, so spacing will not be much different.

Completely agree on Palm up vs down

Watch out with those versa carry clips. Terrible design. The last thing you ever want is something shoved in the barrel. It's a nightmare waiting to happen, and I've read where several have had the little stub snap off, sticking in the barrel and causing serious injury.
