Need help to install hoodshield

I have a 09 4Runner and I am difficulty getting the front grille to move. I loosen the screws but I still cannot insert the shield into the grille. Please help. Thank you in advance.

I just installed one of these last week on my 08 and had the same problem.
I ended up taking the nuts off the center 2 bolts completely and loosened the others as far as I could while still keeping 1-2 threads on. I was then able to push from the inside and kind of pry with a plastic scrapper from the outside. Once it popped out a little, it freed right up and flange of hood protector went right in. I did drop a nut and had to use my magnet to retreive it. If doing it again, I would remove all nuts, get it broken free and seperated, then put some nuts back on to hold in plkce until I tightened everything. Obviously if you need to pry from the outside, use something plastic as not to scratch the paint. The scrapper that come with Goo Gone Label and Decal remover works well. Best regards, Doug

Thank you Doug. I'm going to try what you suggested. I did not try to push it from within. I used WD40 to loosen the nuts and that helped. I'll try to do this again later this afternoon. I'll post a pic of my T4R with the chrome hood shield. Thanks again!

Heres a recent picture of mine taken yesterday. I put in the hood protector, window gutters, and SS Chrome Nerf bars. I also undercoated the whole rig this weekend. Best regards, Doug
