Need Help Urgent...Suggestions Pls

Well guys I really need your help here.

I am currently in San Antonio Texas...on my way here....we had to pass a severe thunderstorm saturday morning around 2:00 a. m. and lasted for about 2 hours when finnaly we decided to stop because we couldn't see anything plus it was extremely windy...We had to stop period. anyways ...we rested a little for a few hours then around 6:00 a.m. or so we went back to the road. After like about 1 hour...I started hearing like a rattleling noise on top of the car...and then I touhgt...dang...the roof rack !...and I was like...no...it can't be that...so I took my Di Cam rolled down the window and recorded the roof of the car... It was the rubber that seals the winshield to the roof of the car. It came out from one end to the middle and the wind was making it hit the roof ..that was the noise. I guess the heavy rain and the wind did this to my baby. Now I bought some spray glue to try to glue it back...off course didn't work.

Can any of you guys tell me what to do to solve this problem?...I need to fix this before I head back home......what product would you guys recommend to permanently fix this...or should I take it to the dealer here in San Antonio for them to fix it?....

Damn JAC,

That sucks...to be driving in those conditions at 2-4am. Never had to experience that yet.

Is water leaking in?

Hopefully you dont have to replace the rubber sealings. Im not sure how to remedy, but good luck. Maybe upload a pix might help.

Find a local glass shop. They should be able to tell you if the seal is reusable or needs to be replaced. I would bet it is just a trim piece and the water-tight seal is below it. If you didn't get a water leak during the heavy rain I don't see why you can't just wait to get home and have it repair there. Just pull the trim piece out so you don't loss it on the way home.

If you really want to get it checked out there's a Safelite Auto Glass at 6400 W Interstate 10. It's on the Northwest near where Loop 410 meets I-10. It actually sits on Balcones Road N between 10 and Fredricksburg Road.

I've dealt with them before, they're good people. They replaced the glass on my Camry.

I'm not sure what part of San Antonio you are in, and it may be a little difficult to find if you're not familiar with the area. The way they build the roads here is unreal.

water was not leaking inside while the storm...but the rubber was still on.

Hey if its the rubber seals, just use glue to seal it back on. Maybe try guerilla glue.

bad idea, gorilla glue expands and makes a $hit mess...

I doubt the shield will leak with the seal missing, the glass is sealed on the inside of the frame. The outer seal keeps water and debris away.

glass installers use urethane or butyl adhesive to install new glass very tacky and durable...

Call a glass company as one other member mentioned. I'm sure you're clever enough to figure out how to get the repair covered by insurance.
