Need help w/pioneer head unit

Thanks to the search feature I was able to remove the oem radio with out breaking anything in my 97 SR5. I am having trouble with the radio harness kit I bought from best buy. It does not plug into 4Runners oem plug. I ve tried Circuit City as well but they had the same harness.

The harness is from
Metra GSXL and the part # 70-1761 Toyota/Scion 1987-2005

Any suggestions? Thanks

You are probably trying to plug into the harness coming out of the factory amp. Follow that plug/harness down (~10 inches) below where the radio is mounted. There you will find the factory amp. Unplug the amp and use those wires that went to the amp. Your Metra harness will plug directly into it.
